About this Role
To help advance this mission, Lincoln Network is seeking an editorial manager. This role will work across teams, with their primary responsibility being management, editing, and quality assurance for policy research and other publications. Secondary responsibilities will include staff writing, updating web content, assisting with social media, and other tasks to support the Lincoln team.
This is a full-time position, with the option to be fully remote or based at Lincoln’s office in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Editorial management for Lincoln research and publications. This includes copy/style editing, fact-checking, substantive editing, and enforcement of quality and integrity standards. Write copy for Lincoln reports, proposals, email campaigns, conferences, and other materials. Assist with updating publications on Lincoln’s website and social media. Domestic travel quarterly. This includes biannual staff retreats with the full Lincoln team, as well as conferences and events. Key regions for Lincoln programming include Miami, San Francisco, San Jose, NYC, and Austin.
Qualifications
Enthusiastic support for Lincoln Network’s mission, unique approach to policy, and market-oriented values. Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced and horizontally-organized work environment. Highly refined communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to communicate complex ideas through both traditional and social media forms. Highly organized and able to consistently meet deadlines and produce deliverables. Strong competency with academic writing best practices, ethical norms, and style guides (e.g. AP/Chicago/Blue Book). Past publication history in policy journals and top national media outlets. Proficiency with common business software applications like Office and Google Docs. Familiarity with WordPress strongly preferred. Applicants should have substantial work experience in this field and deep subject matter expertise in relevant laws, regulations, and jurisprudence. College degree in a related field is recommended but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
Robust benefits package including health/dental/vision insurance, 401K match, professional development allowance, annual performance bonuses, and an unlimited vacation policy. Flexible work schedule in a remote-office environment (or co-working space). Annual salary of $60-80K, based on experience.
