Details: This is a full-time internship (37.5 hours/week), starting Monday, June 17th and ending Friday, August 30th

Essential functions: Common Cause is looking for a Media and Democracy Research & Legislative Intern to work at the intersection of media and democracy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in the inner workings of artificial intelligence, election disinformation, and broadband accessibility. This is a chance to learn and grow at a non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy.

Skills you will build and work you will be involved in:

Conduct research and design materials for artificial intelligence, election disinformation, and broadband accessibility for lawmakers.
Engage with coalition partners, activists, and other stakeholders on relevant issues in technology policy.
Qualifications

You will be a good fit for this internship if you have:

A passion for learning about elections, government affairs, and technology
A desire and an ability to work in a non-partisan manner
A willingness to build your organizational skills and attention to detail
A willingness to build your research, writing, and listening skills
A willingness to learn new skills
Salary: $6,562.50 for the 11 weeks paid in 5 equal twice monthly payments on the 15th and last day of the month.

Classification: This position is classified as temporary and therefore not included in the union-represented collective bargaining unit.
